Case Study
Family of Eateries
About
This project is a restaurant themed web-app built for the iPhone 6, 7, and 8. The screen size that this app has been developed for is 375px by 667px. Ceviche, fancy dining with gourmet meals. Five Vines, a casual Italian restaurant with imported overseas goods. And Crispy's, your traditional fast-food restaurant. All of logos and graphics using Adobe Illustrator. The background images are taken from google images, and used Adobe Photoshop to edit the colours and contrast. The animations and interaction were coded using TweenMax and jQuery. This project was developed in the second semester of the Interactive Media Design at Durham College and was redesigned and improved during the final semester.
Tools Used
Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
How It Works
When the app opens, the splash screen displays with Family of Eateries logo for three seconds, then immediately loads the landing screen. The three-restaurant logos will display, the user can choose which restaurant screen they want to visit. When the user clicks on a restaurant logo, the app will take them to the restaurant home page where they can view the hours, weekly specials, and reserve a table. The user may also select another restaurant by clicking on the hamburger menu at the top left corner of the app.
Development
The project began with the branding/logos for each restaurant, including the app itself. All logos got its inspiration from similar restaurant themes. The wireframes and interfaces for each screen was designed using Photoshop, which included the branding. After completing the design portion of the project, the app prototype was coded class. The original logo designs and interfaces are shown in adjacent image.
NOTE: It's best to view this application in Google Chrome as it was developed for google chrome!
